Biography
Manuel Scano Larrazàbal was born in Padua in 1981 to a Venezuelan mother and Sardinian father. He spent his childhood in Caracas from 1983 to 1992 before returning to Italy along with his family after the coup of Hugo Chavez. He attended the Accademia di Belle Arti of Brera then participated in workshops with international artists and curators including the Fondazione Spinola Banna. His work has been shown through solo and group shows in Italy sine 2011, in Turin, Milan, Brescia, Venice, in both galleries and institutions such as the Fondazione per l’Arte in Rome and the Antonio Ratti Foundation in Come (2014) or the Bevilacqua la Masa Foundation in Venice (2012). He also participated in the curated sector of Artissima in 2011 and had a recent solo exhibition at MaRS Gallery in Los Angeles (2015).
Né en 1981 à Padua en Italie, d’une mère vénézuélienne et d’un père sarde, Manuel Scano Larrazàbal passe sa jeunesse à Caracas, qu’il quitte avec sa famille pour rejoindre son pays natal en 1992 après le coup d’état d’Hugo Chavez. Diplômé de l’Accademia di Belle Arti de Brera en Italie, il fréquente différents ateliers d’artistes et résidences telles que la Fondazione Spinola Banna à Gênes, la Fondazione Antonio Ratti sur le Lac de Côme et la Fondazione per l’Arte à Rome. Après plusieurs expositions personnelles et de groupe en Italie depuis 2011 et une récente exposition personnelle à la MaRs Gallery de Los Angeles, Manuel Scanò Larrazàbal investit la galerie pact à l’occasion de sa première exposition en France. L’œuvre de Manuel Scano Larrazàbal fait aujourd’hui partie des collections de la Deutsche Bank, Collezione Fondazione per l’Arte (Roma), Collezione Giorgio Fasol (Vérone), Collezione Concetto e So a Bosco (Catane), Collezione Luca Amato (Paris), Collezione Carlo Vespa (Milan), Collezione Alessio Sbordoni (Rome), Collezione Risaliti (Rome).
