Dr. Zofia Pałucha (b. 1993, Częstochowa) lives and works in Wrocław, Poland.
Her painting practice combines personal experience with social and political commentary, presented through the perspective of contemporary digital media. Pałucha’s creative process begins on her smartphone, where she transforms amateur photos, random snapshots, and film fragments using various apps. By repurposing these digital elements, she creates new meanings from fleeting and often overlooked images.
The artist is deeply interested in how the intimate sphere—the body, sexuality, and the experience of motherhood—functions in a world dominated by technology and politics. The diversity of the images she uses reflects the complexity of modern life, where the private realm is inseparable from the public and political. Her works are multi-layered and open to change, offering a subtle reflection on the fragility of human agency in a world shaped by constant tension.
In recent years, her work has been presented in solo exhibitions at Miłość in London (2025), PACT in Paris (2023/2024), BWA Studio in Wrocław (2024), Berlinskej Model in Prague (2021), and Piktogram in Warsaw (2020). Her work has also been included in group exhibitions at the Wrocław Contemporary Museum (2021) and Zachęta – National Gallery of Art (2022). In 2025, she participated in the NADA art fair in New York. She is the recipient of the Jerzy Grotowski Scholarship (2023) and the K Mag « Moskity » Award for Art (2024).

En réemployant ces éléments numériques, Pałucha fait émerger de nouveaux récits à partir d’images fugaces, souvent négligées.
L’artiste s’intéresse particulièrement à la manière dont la sphère intime, le corps, la sexualité et l’expérience de la maternité, s’inscrit dans un monde dominé par la technologie et la politique. La diversité des images qu’elle mobilise reflète la complexité de la vie contemporaine, où le privé ne peut plus être séparé du public ni du politique. Ses œuvres, stratifiées et ouvertes à la transformation, proposent une réflexion subtile sur la fragilité de l’agentivité humaine dans un monde traversé par des tensions constantes.
Ces dernières années, son travail a été présenté dans des expositions personnelles à Miłość, Londres (2025), PACT, Paris (2023/2024), BWA Studio, Wrocław (2024), Berlinskej Model, Prague (2021), et Piktogram, Varsovie (2020). Elle a également participé à des expositions collectives au Wrocław Contemporary Museum (2021) et à Zachęta, National Gallery of Art, Varsovie (2022).
